I Lost Track Of What I Was Saying…..

Once you’ve done one open mic. You’ve done them all.

If someone says they aren’t nervous when doing so they are liars.

Yep that’s two I’ve done in the last few weeks.

First one was cloth n coal in Morley and then it was  blind jacks at alley cats in Chapel Allerton last night.

Of course I had the jitters and did mess up my lines a few times.

I did my  countdown in my head and just got on with it regardless

If I had broken down and panicked which I have done before in a same but different situation.

That would’ve made me feel rubbish and would have added to my anxiety.

But I carried on and yes the perfectionist in me was kicking and screaming but I kept her in her box.

So yes I’ve been bitten by the performance bug. And whichever one I can do without it taking up too much of my day.

I can’t go without saying that Friday was f-ing incredible and I’m proud of everyone who was there and got up to show the locals and the old fire station what we are about.

We passed that torch pretty damn well didn’t we?

Chapel FM we have got that in the bag. Our group piece and our individual pieces.

But yes as you know.

It’s all systems go for the weekly sessions.

I will try to join if not I might write to the prompt and share later.

We are on zoom at 6:30 -8

And Saturday at music house 2:30 -4:30.

I’ll leave you with a writing prompt that we were given a while back but it stuck with me.

“It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be beautiful”
